Leather Lane,London- Street Photography

Was on a course a couple of weeks ago down in London, so at lunchtimes, I took my Hasselblad Xpan for a walk through the local markets and environs to try out my hand at some street photograpghy.  These were all shot on Ilford FP4 an ISO 125 film, so there is lots of movement blur and in some cases camera shake.  Next time I’m processing I will have HP5 (ISO 400) shots to add to this post.

Lone Photographer, Saint Pancras International – Hassleblad Xpan

Continuing my photographic exploits in and around London Saint Pancras International Railway Station, here is a hand held Hasselblad Xpan shot of a someone taking a picture.  I guess I’m also getting a thing for taking photographs of photographers taking photographs.

I’m in London, so that must mean…another Saint Pancras International Shot….

Saint Pancras International, Sunshine and Shadows

Unfortunately I was beside myself with excitement (yes I know….) the light was kinda interesting, but I had my train to catch.  So I fired off a couple of shots of the shadows getting cast on the wall opposite, I’ve tried straightening it up, but if I tweak one area, another area looks out.  So this is my best attempt.  Note to diary…sneak a tripod next time.

Okay this may be cheating somewhat.  The photographs are less than 24hrs old and should have been in a post yesterday, but I am using them for today.  Can’t sleep, so I thought I would post something.  If I do find anything more interesting later I will post that too.

Oddness in Russell Square Gardens

Here we have a woman pushing her dog pram and a man and his trainer (all he seemed to do was stand on one foot a lot).

I’m getting more in to the habit of carrying my little Canon G10.  When crossing the road outside the Hotel Russell I saw this shot and couldn’t resist.

St Pancras International and Kings Cross

So having for a number of reasons neglected my 365 since Friday – the reasons include….(in no particular order)…friends leaving party, couldn’t be bothered and work.  I hope I have made up for it by doing a small photo walk on Tuesday.  Apologies to Tim Allen, as I had said I had a board to attend that day so probably won’t be up for much after wards, board got cancelled, so I was up for a spot of togging.  Sorry Tim….

Here is a collection of shots from St Pancras and then down to The Brunswick near Russell Square Tube.

Okay, enough already!  I am now creating a category for my Saint Pancras stuff.  I am beginning to feel though, that whacking something in to black and white and adding a bit of grain, is my device for covering up poor camera work (e.g. camera shake)

Having previously poked a camera through the fence I had the chance to walk in the grounds of this historical place, where the likes of Blake and Defoe are buried.

Not quite sure if a train station can be a muse, but if it can I think Saint Pancras Station in London is becoming mine.  I pass through it at least twice a week and I find it quite calming before I get my head down and join battle with the London throng.

A mobile phone photograph from Friday of a glass of Champagne Billecart Brut Rose and  a bowl of olives.  The last time I had a glass of this was on the first anniversary  of my engagement to my now wife.

Converted in to black and white, with some extra grain added (to hide the camera shake!)

Purely unintentional this effect.  I was in rush to catch my train home, after a longer than intended day and didn’t realise I had witched the screen off on my G10.  So thought the camera had run out of battery.  Clearly it hadn’t.
